Watch the short video teaching the short-form vocalisation and percussion only.

Play this on the jukebox and listen to a lot of other versions too.
You can also download all the different musical versions, in the order they went up.

Check Penny’s website and YouTube channel for more info. She also has a YouTube video for people living with Parkinsons and a YouTube playlist for people living with dementia.

Inclusive singing and percussion along version, arranged and taught by Penny Stone.

From Janis: Penny Stone is a vocalist, percussionist, and teacher living in Edinburgh, Scotland, where she works with various singing groups and individual vocalists. You’ll find two videos of her on my site; this one, which is the a comprehensive teaching video, and another which is the song only. An activist who believes that everyone can sing (and should!), I saw her first video of “Better Times Will Come” and asked her if she’d also do a second, so we’d have both the song-only “teaching video”, and a more comprehensive video with further explanations of things like time signatures. Making the most of lockdown by posting free video sessions weekly, she also offers help for people living with Parkinson’s and others living with dementia. In short, a very welcome, generous part of this project. And definitely the best-clothed person in it as well!

BETTER TIMES WILL COME
(Janis Ian)

Better times, better times will come.
Better times, better times will come.
When this world learns to live as one,
oh, better times will come

When we greet each dawn without fear
knowing loved ones soon will be near
When the winds of war
cannot blow any more
Oh, better times will come

CHORUS

Though we live each day as our last
we know someday soon it will pass
We will dance, we will sing
in that never-ending spring
Oh, better times will come

CHORUS
