From Janis: I met Ulrika through her husband, Eric Bibb, and adored her immediately. Funny, smart, talented as all get-out. Coming from a musical family, she’d still never sung “professionally” before meeting Eric; instead she’d worked as an “assistant nurse” with the elderly for about 25 years. Shortly before the release party for their duo album, “Pray Sing Love”, she was diagnosed with cancer of the tongue. She didn’t know whether she’d be able to sing again, so in many ways the message of gratitude on the album brings her beautiful rendition full circle – because she certainly can sing! You can find this wonderful album on their site, and enjoy the video and mp3 of it right here.

Bättre Da’r Kommer Snart (Better Days)
(Janis Ian) Adapted by Ulrika Bibb

Refräng:
Bättre da’r
Bättre da’r kommer snart
Bättre da’r
Bättre da’r kommer snart
När vi börjar att se klart
Åh, bättre da’r kommer snart

När vi vaknar fyllda av sång
Alla rädslor flyr på en gång
Bort med krig och strider
Så ingen mera lider
Åh, bättre da’r kommer snart

Refräng

När vi lever för varje dag
Vet att allt kommer att bli bra
Alla gamla och unga
Tillsammans ska vi sjunga
Åh, bättre da’r kommer snart

Refräng

Direct translation:

Refrain:
Better days
Better days will come soon
Better days
Better days will come soon
When we begin to see clearly
Oh, better times will come soon

When we wake up filled with song
All fears will fly away at once
Away with war and strife
So no one suffers anymore
Oh, Better days will come soon

Refrain

When we live for each and every day
We’ll know everything will be alright
All the old and the young
Together we’ll sing as one
Oh, better days will come soon

Refrain
