From Janis: I can’t remember how I met Diana, but I liked her work enough to invite her on tour with me. We had a fun time criss-crossing the country, dueting here and there, working with Tom Paxton and Robin Bullock and up at the Swannanoa Gathering. She keeps coming up with interesting projects of her own. Back in 2013 she recorded a live album with a couple of sidekicks at the Peter’s Homestead Cabin, part of Tennessee’s Museum of Appalachia. What I recall is that they had to stop recording to herd up the sheep they’d accidentally let out. More than once, if memory serves. There’s a good article about that here, and you can find out more on her own website.
By the way, Diana also has a song called “Better Times Will Come”. Someone ought to do a mash-up!
BETTER TIMES WILL COME
(Janis Ian)
Better times, better times will come.
Better times, better times will come.
When this world learns to live as one,
oh, better times will come
When we greet each dawn without fear
knowing loved ones soon will be near
When the winds of war
cannot blow any more
Oh, better times will come
CHORUS
Though we live each day as our last
we know someday soon it will pass
We will dance, we will sing
in that never-ending spring
Oh, better times will come
CHORUS
